So to illustrate I'll select these two cameras, drag a selection rectangle, and create a new display layer, down here at the bottom of my channel box, I've got the display layers. So that's how to set up the drawing overrides in the transform node that can then in turn be overridden by the settings of any enclosing display layer. And we see that that has now taken priority over the Wireframe color. I'll just use index mode and I'll change that object drawing override index color to let's say this medium yellow, and then de-select the object. And that's controlled down here from this color picker, either index or RGB mode will take priority over the Wireframe color. But what we're interested in here is the Wireframe color. And the settings in here, if enabled will take priority over the Wireframe color, I'll turn on enable overrides, and we can do lots of cool things in here such as forced geometry to display as Wireframe regardless of the shading mode. Let's talk about the transform node first, open up the display rollout and if necessary, scroll down and also open up drawing overrides. I'll select that camera, open up the attribute editor control + A, we've got the camera's shape node and it's transform node. I've got an object here which has its Wireframe color set to a bright red. These are all going to be found in the attribute editor. And these are found in the drawing overrides for each objects, transform node, display layer, and shape node. ![]() But then there are a whole bunch of other settings that can override that. Starting with the user preferences that we previously saw and then the Wireframe RGB settings are going to override whatever your user settings are and that's good. It was actually kind of a complicated hierarchy of display settings. ![]() And it actually has no effect because it's been overridden by something else in the scene. And also how does said Wireframe colors in the scene itself using RGB mode? Well, we're still not really finished with this topic because it's very possible that you will set up a Wireframe color in RGB mode. ![]() In the last movie we saw how to store object colors in the user preferences.
